Our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation.

Last updated 31 October 2026

ChatterBack is a community site for radio operators, run by One Overland LLC in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It is built for adults, and there is no tolerance here for the sexual abuse or exploitation of children. This page is the published standard the Google Play Child Safety Standards policy asks for, and it is also simply what we do.

Who ChatterBack is for

You must be 18 or older to hold an account. The terms say so, the listing on Google Play declares an audience of 18 and over, and accounts we find to belong to a child are removed. We do not build features for children, we do not market to them, and nothing on the site is aimed at them.

What is prohibited

The following are banned outright and are grounds for immediate and permanent removal, with no warning and no appeal:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form - photographs, video, drawings, generated images, or text describing it - whether posted, linked to, requested, or offered.
  • Grooming: contacting or befriending a minor, here or by moving the conversation elsewhere, for sexual purposes.
  • Sextortion: threatening to share intimate images of anyone, of any age, to coerce them.
  • Trafficking of a minor, or any offer, advertisement or solicitation of a minor for sex.
  • Sexualising a minor in any way, including sexual commentary about a real child, and the use of a child’s image in a sexual context.
  • Promoting, normalising or defending any of the above, and signalling an interest in it through coded language, emoji or hashtags.

How to report it

In the app: every post, reply and chat message has a ··· menu with Report on it. Choose it, say briefly what is wrong, and it reaches our moderation queue immediately. The same menu has Block, which cuts contact in both directions at once. Neither tells the other member who reported them.

By email: write to hello@chatterback.net. That address reaches One Overland LLC directly and is the point of contact for child safety matters, including for Google and for law enforcement. Mark it urgent and we will treat it that way.

To the authorities, directly: in the United States, report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678. If a child is in immediate danger, call 911 first. You never need our permission, and you do not have to wait for us.

What happens to a report

  • Reports of this kind are handled ahead of everything else in the queue. Admins are notified when one arrives.
  • Content is removed, and the account is suspended while it is reviewed rather than after.
  • Confirmed cases mean permanent removal of the account, and we do not knowingly let the same person back.
  • Apparent child sexual abuse material is reported to the NCMEC CyberTipline, as United States law requires of us, and we preserve what the law requires us to preserve and hand it to law enforcement on lawful request. We comply with applicable law wherever a member is, including 18 U.S.C. § 2258A.
  • We do not go looking through private messages, and we do not need to in order to act on a report.

Who is responsible

One Overland LLC is a small company and these decisions are not delegated: the owner is the named contact and the one who acts. There is no queue behind which a report of this kind can sit unseen. Admins and state coordinators can remove content and suspend accounts to stop harm immediately, and anything in this category is escalated to the owner the same day.

Standards we hold ourselves to

We publish and follow these standards; we keep an in-app way to report this conduct, as described above; we act on what we become aware of rather than waiting to be compelled; we report to NCMEC and cooperate with law enforcement; and we review this page as the service changes. These commitments are the Google Play Child Safety Standards, and they are met.
