Chat reference card

Old-school rooms, first names and callsigns, slash commands, and a couple of bots. Everything here works in the box at the bottom of any room; the ? button in a room shows the short version.

Rooms

  • #lobbyEveryone, every service, every state.
  • #okYour state, all services. Every state has one (#tx, #ks…). You land here from the Chat link.
  • #ok-gmrs · #ok-ham · #ok-meshtastic · #ok-meshcoreYour state, one service. These double as the chat for the state’s official hub groups.
  • ⚠ #ok-wxWeather. The NWS bot posts every watch and warning for the state here the minute it’s issued, and sets the topic while something severe is live. Spotters use /report here.
  • #gmrs · #ham · #meshtastic · #meshcoreOne service, nationwide.
  • #tulsa-meshAny community group gets a room the first time a member opens it - from the group page’s “chat” button or /join #tulsa-mesh. Members only.
  • 🎙 net roomsOne per scheduled net, from the Nets page. See Net rooms.
  • @ directPrivate rooms you’re in. See Private rooms.

The left rail lists them in that order: Direct · Nets · your state · this room’s state (if different) · Services · My groups · Everyone. On a phone the rail slides out from the # button; the user list from the ● button.

Names & symbols

You appear as your first name plus your callsign if you’ve added one to your profile: Priya · KI5QRT. No callsign, just the first name.

  • +Verified callsign - the licence was matched against the FCC file.
  • ✓ in the user listSame thing, next to the callsign.

  • Monitoring a frequency - they used /mon; the user list shows what.

  • Offline member of a private room.
  • * Lee wavesAn action line, from /me.

Privacy

Scrollback is seven days, then it’s gone. Presence (who’s here, what they’re monitoring) is live and never stored. Private rooms are readable only by their members. There are no trackers, no analytics, no logs beyond the messages you see. /73 signs you off; closing the tab does the same.
